FK ALEXANDER // GRIMALKIN555

Performed at Unfix Festival, CCA, Glasgow, July 2015

The body is the site, the playground, the venue, the avenue, the battleground, the landscape.
We veer wildly through the days – at once impelled to live yet destined to die. This constant flux is lived out in the body.
I surrender my need to understand the ground I worship as I scuttle across. The sun continues to rise and so I must too.
This work is an attempt to recognise the extraordinary violence and rhythm of life – why I am alive in a never-ending world orbited by a cold indifferent sun? What use amid this, oh me, oh life?
I use art as my gun and as my white flag.
This is a aktion work using physical endurance, harsh terrain, complex sonics and red focus.
